  • Ag Explorer - Offering various virtual field trips, videos and other resources to help students explore careers in Agriculture.  
  • Michigan Agriculture in the Classroom offers 25 lesson plans for grades 6-8 in agritourism, farm-to-fork, cheese making, food packaging, culinary concepts, Ag careers, Food Safety, Beeswax, and more!
  • This 40-minute lesson incorporates literacy, note-taking, communication, career exploration, and technology.  It revolves around the Arts, A/V Technology and Communication cluster.
  • Career Exploration Lesson Plans for 6th & 7th Grades - Exploring's Discover Your Future has created 41 lessons around career exploration for sixth and seventh grades. 
  • CS + Passion = Careers of the Future - Explore how computer science intersects with various career fields.
  • Discovery Education - Career Connections - Career Connect builds students’ curiosity and career readiness by connecting K – 12 classrooms with diverse industry professionals. 
  • Health Science Careers - Michigan Health Council provides a comprehensive website with information on 27 healthcare occupations with additional occupations coming soon, including current workforce data, relevant legislation, hourly wages, job titles, employment statistics, related initiatives, career pathways, and more.​
  • Introduce Michigan’s Hot 50 Job Outlook Lesson-  Students will be introduced to the job outlook and its relevance to career exploration and planning. 
  • Students have So Many Ideas! about what they want to be when they grow up. Use this lesson to introduce or review career clusters and begin or update their EDPs.

  • ASCA Middle School Career Conversations - All students have the opportunity to explore interests, abilities, values and goals and have freedom of postsecondary training and career choice. Career conversations engages students, parents and community partners.
  • Careers & Xello Family Interview - Use this lesson to connect classroom learning to real-world careers and engage families to improve connections with Xello Family!
Target 5:  Career Interests Lessons
  • Career One Stop Interest Assessment - Choose work that includes mostly what you like to do, and not too much of what you dislike. Career interests are the activities and work environments you prefer in a job. They might match up with your much-loved hobbies or projects, favorite school subjects, or the topics that most interest you.
  • Career One Stop Skills Assessment - Your skills are the things you do well. Workplace skills are skills that help you do your job well. This might include writing, problem solving, data entry, helping people—or anything else you might do on a job.
  • Career One Stop Work Values Assessment - Work values are features of a job or work environment. Work values can change from career to career, from employer to employer and from one job to another.
  • O*Net Interest Profiler - Help students identify interests, skills, abilities, and values, and consider possible future selves and the vast range of career possibilities.
  • Use Xello's inventories to generate self-awareness and identify personal motivation related to work, income, and lifestyle.
